End-to-end encrypted
Video, audio and chat are encrypted on your device. The key lives in the invite link after the “#”, which browsers never send to a server.

Your device makes the key
When you start an encrypted meeting, your browser or app generates a random secret key. It is never created on our servers.
The key rides in the link
It is placed after the “#” in the invite link. Browsers never send that part to any server, so only people you share the link with can decrypt.
Compare the safety code
Everyone sees a short code derived from the key. Read it aloud: if it matches for all, nobody is intercepting the meeting.
Meetings without end-to-end encryption still use standard transport encryption (DTLS-SRTP / TLS).

Can Si-Des Meet read my encrypted meeting?
No. With end-to-end encryption on, media and chat are encrypted on your device and the key is only in the invite link’s #fragment, which is never sent to our servers. Share that link only with people you trust.
What is the safety code?
A short code computed from the meeting key. If everyone sees the same code, nobody is sitting in the middle. Read it aloud at the start of sensitive meetings.
How does live translation work?
Chat messages and captions are translated into each person’s chosen language. Where your browser supports on-device translation, the text stays on your device; otherwise a translation service is used and you are told.
Does the AI assistant cost anything?
You can use it without paying. When a premium model reaches its limit, requests fall back to a free model, so the assistant keeps answering.
Do guests need an account?
No. Anyone with the link can join as a guest from a browser. Signing in unlocks your dashboard, saved meetings and higher limits.
Can a removed person rejoin?
Not by just changing their name. Device trust recognises the device that was removed and blocks it from rejoining that meeting.

Any modern browser on phone, tablet or computer, plus apps for Android (APK), Windows and macOS. An iPhone and iPad app is coming soon.
