What changed in Si-Des Meet, newest first. We describe what is implemented and say where there are limits.

Privacy, language and mobile
- New
A speaking face for the AI assistant
When the AI joins a meeting it can now appear as a human-like avatar whose mouth, blinks and head movement follow its voice. Choose from three avatars, or switch it off, in Settings or from the button on the AI’s tile. It only changes what you see.
- New
End-to-end encrypted meetings
Audio, video and in-meeting messages (chat, whiteboard, polls, reactions) can be encrypted on your device. The key is created in the host’s browser and travels only in the invite link’s # fragment. Safety codes let participants confirm they share the same key. The AI assistant and server-side recording are unavailable in these meetings.
- New
Live translation for chat and captions
Read chat messages and captions in your own language. Translation runs on your device when your browser supports it, and otherwise through our server. In encrypted meetings the server route is off unless you opt in.
- New
Android app
Join, schedule and manage meetings with native video calls, the same encrypted invite links, a low-data mode, live translated chat, deep links and a server address you can change for self-hosted setups. iOS is planned for later.
- Security
Device trust and enforced moderation
A hashed device identifier backs per-device rate limits, optional device bans for removed participants and a short device badge that helps expose impersonators. Removing someone now disconnects them on the server instead of relying on their browser.
- Security
Hardened server
Strict CSP, HSTS and Permissions-Policy headers, input validation, API rate limiting, constant-time passcode checks, signed host and admit proofs, sender-checked moderation messages and room tokens pinned to one canonical room.
- Fixed
True camera, no mirroring
Your video is never mirrored or flipped for other people, and it is no longer mirrored in your own preview unless you switch on “Mirror my preview” in Settings (off by default). Text on a whiteboard or shirt now reads correctly for everyone.
- Improved
A more resilient AI assistant
A fallback chain across several model providers with automatic cooldown and rotation, a keyless hosted backstop, an optional self-hosted Ollama tier, token budgets and history summarisation, so the assistant keeps working when free-tier quotas run out.
- Improved
Lighter and faster
Smaller page bundles, long-lived caching for static files and a data-saver option make the site and room load faster on phones and slow connections.
- Improved
Refreshed design
A refreshed look across the website and apps, with light and dark themes and better support for reduced motion and small screens.
- Improved
Updated documentation and trust pages
Documentation, Security, Privacy, About, Tutorials, Support and Accessibility were rewritten to match the product. New Downloads and Release notes pages were added.
- Improved
More interface languages on the way
German, Portuguese, Swahili and Arabic (with right-to-left layout) are being added to English, French, Spanish and Kinyarwanda.
